Steph Curry Reacts to Kevin Durant Shutting Down Suns-Warriors Trade Rumors

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has weighed in on Kevin Durant’s recent comments about trade rumors linking him to a potential move from the Phoenix Suns back to the Bay Area.

Reports surfaced suggesting that the Suns explored a trade involving Durant and the Warriors before the trade deadline, but the two-time Finals MVP quickly dismissed the speculation, calling it “cap.” Now, Curry has shared his perspective on the situation.

Curry Addresses the Trade Talk

Speaking to reporters, Curry made it clear that while he respects Durant’s stance, he understands how trade rumors can take on a life of their own.

“That’s the business we’re in,” Curry said. “People are always going to speculate, especially when it comes to big names like KD. But at the end of the day, he’s happy where he’s at, and we’re focused on what we have here.”

Curry and Durant shared a historic run with the Warriors from 2016 to 2019, winning two championships together. While fans have often fantasized about a reunion, both players have moved forward in their respective careers.

Durant’s Strong Response

Durant was quick to shut down the rumors when they first emerged. He took to social media to call out the reports, saying they were completely false.

“Why would I be in trade talks? Where do y’all get this from?” Durant wrote, dismissing the idea that he was ever on the market.

The Suns, who are looking to contend for a championship with their trio of Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal, reportedly had no real intention of moving KD.

Could a Curry-Durant Reunion Ever Happen?

Despite the trade chatter, a reunion between Curry and Durant doesn’t seem likely—at least for now. The Warriors have focused on developing their young talent while maximizing what remains of their championship core. Meanwhile, Durant is locked in with the Suns, determined to chase another ring in Phoenix.

For now, Curry is sticking to his philosophy of controlling what’s in his hands. “All I can do is focus on the guys in our locker room and keep pushing for a championship,” he said.

While Warriors fans may have to put their Durant reunion dreams on hold, one thing is clear: the respect between these two legends remains strong, even as they compete on different teams.
