Eagles RB AJ Dillon ‘good to go’ after missing 2024 season due to neck injury

The Philadelphia Eagles have signed running back A.J. Dillon to a one-year contract, aiming to strengthen their backfield alongside star running back Saquon Barkley.

A.J. Dillon’s Recent Challenges and Comeback

Dillon, 26, brings valuable experience to the Eagles, having accumulated 2,428 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns over 60 games with the Green Bay Packers since entering the NFL in 2020. However, his 2024 season was marred by a neck injury sustained during a joint practice with the Denver Broncos, leading to his placement on injured reserve and missing the entire season.  Prior to that, he had also missed the final two games of the 2023 season due to a neck stinger.

After thorough evaluations, Dillon has been medically cleared and reports no lingering concerns, expressing readiness to contribute to the Eagles’ success in the upcoming season.

Eager to Join the Eagles

Expressing enthusiasm about joining Philadelphia, Dillon stated, “When I look at what this team has done not only last year but in years past leading up to the Super Bowl run, as a running back who loves to play good, hard, tough football, this is somewhere I wanted to be a part of.”

Looking Ahead

With his return to full health, Dillon is poised to compete for a significant role in the Eagles’ running game, providing a powerful complement to Barkley. His addition enhances the team’s depth and versatility at the running back position as they prepare for the 2025 season.
