NFL news roundup: Rams agree to terms with RB Ronnie Rivers; Steelers adding DT Daniel Ekuale

The NFL offseason continues to see teams strengthening their rosters ahead of the 2025 season. Notably, the Los Angeles Rams have re-signed running back Ronnie Rivers, while the Pittsburgh Steelers have bolstered their defensive line by signing defensive tackle Daniel Ekuale.

Los Angeles Rams Re-Sign Ronnie Rivers

The Rams have agreed to terms with running back Ronnie Rivers on a one-year deal, ensuring his return for the 2025 season. Rivers, a restricted free agent, was retained without the team issuing a tender, suggesting a contract with minimal guaranteed money.   In the 2024 season, Rivers contributed significantly, rushing for 450 yards and three touchdowns, while also recording 30 receptions for 250 yards and a touchdown. His versatility as both a runner and receiver adds valuable depth to the Rams’ backfield.

Pittsburgh Steelers Sign Daniel Ekuale

The Steelers have added defensive tackle Daniel Ekuale to their roster, signing him to a contract, though terms have not been disclosed.   Ekuale brings experience from his four seasons with the New England Patriots, where he appeared in 45 games and recorded 15 sacks. His presence is expected to provide depth and versatility to Pittsburgh’s defensive line, potentially filling the void left by Larry Ogunjobi’s departure.

These moves reflect the Rams’ and Steelers’ strategic efforts to retain key contributors and enhance their respective rosters as they prepare for the upcoming season.
