Texas A&M Pitcher Josh Stewart To Undergo MRI After Injury

Texas A&M Aggies relief pitcher Josh Stewart is set to undergo an MRI following a knee injury sustained during a game against the Cal Poly Mustangs on Saturday. The incident occurred in the top of the ninth inning when Stewart appeared to be in discomfort, prompting head coach Michael Earley to remove him from the game.

Despite the injury, the Aggies secured a narrow 4-3 victory, maintaining their undefeated record at that time. Initial assessments suggest that the MRI is precautionary, with the team not anticipating severe findings. College baseball insider Kendall Rogers noted that the Aggies are “apparently not expecting bad news” regarding Stewart’s condition.

In a subsequent update, Coach Earley provided more insight into Stewart’s status, indicating that the MRI revealed a combination of an old injury and a new one. He mentioned receiving mixed reviews on the results and stated that Stewart might have to pitch through some discomfort. While it’s unlikely Stewart will participate in the upcoming weekend games, he is not expected to be sidelined for the entire season. The coaching staff is seeking further evaluations to determine a precise timeline for his return.

The Aggies will continue to monitor Stewart’s progress closely, aiming to ensure his full recovery while maintaining their competitive edge in the season ahead.
